Setting up your first alert

1
Go to the Alerts page
In your dashboard, click Alerts in the sidebar navigation.
2
Add keywords or CPV codes
Enter the keywords or CPV codes that describe your services. Use CPV codes for better coverage — they catch contracts with vague titles your keywords would miss.
3
Add filters (optional)
Filter by buyer name, contract value range, source portal, or geography to narrow results.
4
Name and save
Give your alert a name — e.g. "IT security NHS" — and save. Matched tenders arrive in your inbox on your plan's schedule.

Tips for better alerts

  • Use CPV codes alongside keywords — catch contracts with vague titles
  • Create separate alerts for different service lines or sectors
  • Add target buyer names to focus on specific organisations
  • Set value ranges to filter out contracts too small or large
  • Review and refine alerts monthly based on relevance of results

New to CPV codes?

Frequently asked questions

How do tender alerts work?

You create a saved search with your preferred keywords, CPV codes, buyer names, and value ranges. PSIP monitors all five UK procurement portals daily and sends you matched new tenders by email — daily on Starter, 4-hourly on Growth, and hourly on Professional plans.

What is the difference between keyword and CPV code alerts?

Keyword alerts find tenders containing specific words in their title or description. CPV code alerts find all tenders in a procurement category regardless of wording. CPV alerts are more reliable for catching contracts with vague titles. Using both together gives the best coverage.

How many alerts can I set up?

Starter plan includes 3 saved alerts. Growth includes 10. Professional and above include unlimited alerts. Each alert can cover multiple keywords and CPV codes.

Do alerts cover all five UK portals?

Yes. A single PSIP alert searches Find a Tender, Contracts Finder, Public Contracts Scotland, Sell2Wales and eTendersNI simultaneously. You do not need separate alerts for each portal.

How quickly do I receive alerts?

Starter users receive a daily morning digest. Growth users receive alerts every 4 hours. Professional and above users receive hourly alerts — meaning you see new contracts within an hour of publication.
