Quick answer: The Supplier Registration Service (SRS) at supplierregistration.cabinetoffice.gov.uk is a free government database where suppliers store their company information for use across UK public sector procurement. Register once — reuse your information across multiple tender applications. It was introduced alongside the Procurement Act 2023 which came into force on 24 February 2025.

Why the SRS was created

Before the Procurement Act 2023, suppliers had to submit the same company information — financial accounts, insurance certificates, accreditations, exclusion declarations — on every single tender they applied for. This was time-consuming for suppliers and created unnecessary duplication across the procurement system.

The SRS solves this by creating a single supplier profile that public sector buyers can access directly. Once registered, your information is stored centrally and can be referenced or shared across multiple procurement exercises — significantly reducing the administrative burden of tendering.

Key things to know

Frequently asked questions

What is the Supplier Registration Service?

The Supplier Registration Service (SRS) is a centralised online database where suppliers register their company information for use across UK public sector procurement. Introduced alongside the Procurement Act 2023, it allows suppliers to store their core business details once and share them across multiple tenders, reducing administrative burden.

Where is the Supplier Registration Service?

The Supplier Registration Service is at supplierregistration.cabinetoffice.gov.uk. It is a free government service run by the Cabinet Office.

Is the Supplier Registration Service mandatory?

Registration is not currently mandatory for all contracts but is increasingly expected for central government procurement. Suppliers who register benefit from faster application processes as their information is pre-populated on tender submissions. It is strongly recommended for any supplier bidding on public sector contracts.

What information do I need to register on the SRS?

You need your Companies House registration number, company contact details, financial accounts (last 2 years), insurance certificates (public liability and professional indemnity), relevant accreditations and certifications, and declarations relating to the exclusion grounds under the Procurement Act 2023.

Is the Supplier Registration Service the same as the old PAS?

The SRS replaces the previous Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) approach and the old Contracts Finder supplier registration. It is part of the wider procurement reforms introduced by the Procurement Act 2023, creating a single supplier database that can be used across all central government procurement.

Does the SRS replace G-Cloud or Digital Marketplace registration?

No. The SRS is for general procurement registration. G-Cloud and Digital Outcomes have their own application processes through the Digital Marketplace. However, you may eventually be able to use SRS information to support Digital Marketplace applications.

How long does SRS registration take?

Initial registration takes approximately 30-60 minutes to complete. You will need to have your financial documents and insurance certificates ready to upload. Once registered, your profile can be updated at any time.
